The assumption

Peptide care is a single, standard treatment

The answer

Protein building blocks link up in a small chain to form a peptide; this name does not identify the care a service provides.

Start with the medicine’s exact name

Food and Drug Administration is the name of the US agency that checks medicines; this guidebook uses its usual initials, FDA. Approval applies to a particular product and use.

As of September 26, 2026, FDA approvals for type 2 diabetes or long-term weight care include semaglutide and tirzepatide products. Semaglutide names include Ozempic and Wegovy; tirzepatide names include Mounjaro and Zepbound.

The approved use depends on the exact product. Ask the service to identify the product in full and explain why it is being proposed.

Compounded means mixed or made to order for a patient, instead of supplied as a finished medicine from a drug manufacturer.

As of September 26, 2026, these medicines made to order lack FDA approval. FDA has not reviewed these medicines before sale to check their quality or whether they work well and are safe.

Providence starts the search; the visit location matters

As of September 30, 2026, Rhode Island’s medical-board guidance calls for a Rhode Island licence when a doctor treats a patient who is in the state.

Telehealth delivers care through video, phone calls or an online exchange. Before the visit, give the service the name of the state where you will physically be. Ask whether the doctor holds a licence for that state.

Take questions, not a shopping list

Write down what you want help with. Ask what the assessment will cover, what else could help, and who will answer after the visit.
